The Very Group partners with Looklet to create automated fashion photography

Digital retailer will use leading fashion tech company’s solution to create on-model imagery in moments

Stockholm, 28 June 2022 - Looklet, a Stockholm-based innovative tech solution for creating automated on-model fashion photography and for e-commerce at scale has announced a new partnership with The Very Group, the UK-based multi-category digital retailer which operates Very.co.uk.

Very has installed a state-of-the-art Looklet photo studio within Lightbox, its own in-house photography studio in Liverpool, where up to 100 fashion items can be photographed in a single day by only one or two operators. Using Looklet’s ‘Look Creator’ styling software, the retailer can then digitally mix and match those garments on a choice of over 70 models with more than 500 facial expressions and 1,000 body movements.

The new capability enhances Very’s range of fashion photography production processes and, by decreasing dependency on vendor-provided imagery, allows the retailer to retain greater control over the consistency and aesthetics of images on its customer-facing websites. It also simplifies the logistics of transporting and photographing fashion products, significantly increasing the speed with which on-model fashion images can be created and used on site.

“We’re always looking at ways to enhance our photo production processes, and I’m happy to be announcing the next big step through this new partnership with Looklet,” Mark Stocker, Senior Creative Manager at The Very Group, said. “Not only will it help with image consistency, it will also improve cost-efficiency, optimise sample and model logistics and significantly reduce time to market.”

With annual revenue of £2.3bn, The Very Group is a unique digital business that combines online retail and flexible payments. The Group’s family of digital retail brands, led by Very.co.uk, help its 4.8 million customers access more than 2,000 big brands across fashion, home, electrical and more.

Adam Berg, CEO and Co-Founder of Looklet, said, “We are excited to support our new partners at The Very Group. We will work closely with them to bring solutions to market that impact the performance of their entire ecommerce platform, increasing the efficiency of their studio operations, cutting their time to market and boosting their conversions.”
